Clinging to Jesus...Anyone Can Share the Gospel!

Luke 24:21-24 New International Version

21 but we had hoped that he was the one who was going to redeem Israel. And what is more, it is the third day since all this took place. 22 In addition, some of our women amazed us. They went to the tomb early this morning 23 but didn’t find his body. They came and told us that they had seen a vision of angels, who said he was alive. 24 Then some of our companions went to the tomb and found it just as the women had said, but they did not see Jesus.”

Wednesday - April 21

In ancient Jewish society women were not considered reliable witnesses. “Hystericus” was Latin for “womb” and “hysteria” was the idea that women were too emotional to be reliable witnesses. Don’t shoot me! I’m just sharing historical context! These men did not put much stock in what the women said. These men probably thought the women were hysterical with grief over the loss of Jesus and wanted to believe that he was not really dead. If Jesus really was alive, then why wouldn’t he show himself to the men? Jesus showed them, and us, that it doesn't matter who preaches the Gospel. It could be a pastor or a small child, a missionary or a farmer. God can and will use you if you cling to Him and trust what he has done for you.
