Faith Declares God to be True!

Isaiah 55:6-7 New International Version (NIV)
6 Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near. 7 Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts. Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them, and to our God, for he will freely pardon. Wed. September 9 - Isaiah 55:6-7
In “The Parable of the Two Sons” one son does the will of the father while the other
does not. What is the will of our heavenly Father? Faith. Specifically, faith in His
Son, Jesus. Wickedness and unrighteousness are not simply doing bad things. Those are “sins,” with a small “s” and an in the plural. Sin, singular with a big “S,” is the disease that causes all sins. Sin, sometimes referred to as “Original Sin” is the lack of faith in God. When we turn to God in faith He will forgive us our Sin disease and our sinful symptoms. We know this is true because of what Jesus has done for us. Faith is the will of God. As Martin Luther put it: “ Faith, faithfulness, confidence deep in the heart, is the true fulfilling of the First Commandment; without this there is no other work that is able to satisfy this Commandment.” Why is this true? Because
God has made a promise to save us. Faith declares God to be trustworthy and true.
