"Father Forgive Them!"

Matthew 25:18 New International Version (NIV)

18 But the man who had received one bag went off, dug a hole in the ground and hid his master’s money. Thursday, October 8 Sometimes I think God is going to be like a parent at Christmas who couldn’t control himself. He just keeps giving more and more gifts. In the parable, when the master returns, the first two servants brought the original amount that was left with them and then brought the extra money they had earned while trading with it. There was no fear. They were not worried that they had risked their master’s property. And the master shows no sign of being upset. Instead, he is overjoyed! Then he gives them even more stuff and invites them to “enter into the joy of [their] master.” He is ecstatic! They risked his property, but that is what he expected of them! Because the master KNEW that his property was valuable and would always increase in value. He knew that if they would put his property “to work” that it would reap a bountiful harvest. He was overjoyed with them and started pouring out more and more blessings upon them. God is inviting you to put his “property” of forgiveness “to work.” It will produce a harvest of peace, joy, and love. When we forgive he is overjoyed and will dump even more forgiveness and peace on us!
