Give What Scares You In Life to Jesus - He LOVES You and SAVED You!

Matthew 2:16-18 New International Version

16 When Herod realized that he had been outwitted by the Magi, he was furious, and he gave orders to kill all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity who were two years old and under, in accordance with the time he had learned from the Magi. 17 Then what was said through the prophet Jeremiah was fulfilled: 18 “A voice is heard in Ramah, weeping and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children and refusing to be comforted, because they are no more.”[a]

Friday - January 7

As was mentioned on Tuesday, Herod the “Great” was a brutal leader. Since he could not simply go find his rival he decided to punish the entire town! He had that power. Bethlehem was probably smaller than Flanagan, so the number of boys under age 2 would have been very small. Yet, this act was still brutal and ruthless! While not every earthly leader is so ruthless, we know that political leaders love their power and so do we. If a boss treats us badly we often take out our frustration on our family or friends. If we lash out at our boss we might get punished! So we take out our pain on our kids or someone that seems weaker than us. But fear not! You are forgiven. Give the pain that you experience and the loss of control that scares you to Jesus, who loves you and has saved you.
