Luke 6:37-38
New International Version
Judging Others 37 “Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. 38 Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”

A few times in the Gospels Jesus comes close to saying that we will be rewarded for certain actions. But notice what those actions are: mercy, forgiveness, grace, and peace with God. (See also Matt. 6:14-15). In other words, bless others with unmerited favor and mercy that they do not deserve (see the unmerited part) just as YOU have been blessed by God with unmerited favor and mercy. The issue is not that God is going to withhold His grace and mercy. The issue is that the more that you participate in God’s grace and mercy the more you will experience it in your own life. The more you forgive the more you will be forgiven. If you are a merciful person others are FAR more likely to give YOUR mercy. That is not karma. That is grace! So join in the party! Go out and bless the way YOU HAVE BEEN BLESSED!
