Grace and Peace is Yours!

Titus 1:1-4 New International Version

1 Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ to further the faith of God’s elect and their knowledge of the truth that leads to godliness— 2 in the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time, 3 and which now at his appointed season he has brought to light through the preaching entrusted to me by the command of God our Savior, 4 To Titus, my true son in our common faith: Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior.

Thursday - June 24

In the greeting of his letter to a friend named Titus, the Apostle Paul highlighted how God saves us. Hint: we have been talking about it all week long in the devotions. You guessed it! The preaching of God’s word, specifically God’s word of promise! Paul calls himself a servant of God and apostle (which means “sent one”) of Jesus Christ for the sake of creating faith in others and giving them the true knowledge of the promises of God, so that they can live in the certainty of God’s mercy and favor. That is the “true knowledge.” You can be certain that you have “grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior.” Grace is unmerited favor and blessing and peace is a renewed and loving relationship with God. You and God are on good terms! Now, like Noah, trust that God’s word is true and live in grace and peace with others because God does not lie!
