He Creates New Life in You!

Matthew 25:11-13 New International Version (NIV)

11 “Later the others also came. ‘Lord, Lord,’ they said, ‘open the door for us!’

12 “But he replied, ‘Truly I tell you, I don’t know you.’

13 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour. Friday, October 2 - The idea of being “known” in the Bible describes an intensely intimate relationship. In Genesis 4:1 we are told that Adam “knew” his wife, Eve. Some English translations of the Bible will actually say that they “made love.” But the idea of “knowing” is actually a better description. What happened was more than sexual. It was an intimate encounter that produced new life. When the “foolish” young girls finally show up to the party they are locked out. They bang on the door and ask to be let in, but what does the “lord” of the feast say? “I do not know you.” Why would he open up the door to a complete stranger? Like a marriage, faith is a relationship with Jesus in which we open up and let him really get to “know” us. The good news is that we “know” who Jesus is. We know that when he gets to know us on a deep and intimate level that he will not abandon us. When he sees the dark, ugly, and sinful parts he will forgive, cleanse, and make us new. He will create in us a new life.
