Jesus Keeps on Forgiving Us Even When We Don't Understand Everything!

Mark 8:22-26 New International Version

Jesus Heals a Blind Man at Bethsaida 22 They came to Bethsaida, and some people brought a blind man and begged Jesus to touch him. 23 He took the blind man by the hand and led him outside the village. When he had spit on the man’s eyes and put his hands on him, Jesus asked, “Do you see anything?” 24 He looked up and said, “I see people; they look like trees walking around.” 25 Once more Jesus put his hands on the man’s eyes. Then his eyes were opened, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly. 26 Jesus sent him home, saying, “Don’t even go into[a] the village.”

In yesterday’s reading, the disciples still did not understand Jesus after all they had seen and heard. Here, Jesus heals a blind man in two stages. At first, the man could see “halfway.” Everything was blurry and people looked like walking trees. So Jesus did it again and he had perfect 20/20 vision! Was Jesus tired? Did he not have as much power the first time? DId he screw it up the first time? Nope. This is a lived parable. Like the blind man, the disciples don’t “see clearly” yet. Not until after the resurrection! Often, we don’t see clearly, but Jesus does not give up on us! He keeps on forgiving!
