Living Each Day in God's Grace!

Hebrews 10:36-39 New International Version (NIV)

36 You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. 37 For, “In just a little while, he who is coming will come and will not delay.”[a]38 And, “But my righteous[b] one will live by faith. And I take no pleasure in the one who shrinks back.”[c]39 But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved. Saturday, September 12 - Hebrews 10:36-39 A quote from C.S. Lewis at the beginning of the Oxford University semester when World War 2 was surging. My (small) edits are in brackets. “[COVID-19] creates no absolutely new situation; it simply aggravates the permanent human situation so that we can no longer ignore it. Human life has always been lived on the edge of a precipice. Human culture has always had to exist under the shadow of something

infinitely more important than itself. If [people] had postponed the search for

knowledge and beauty until they were secure, the search would never have begun.

We are mistaken when we compare [COVID-19] with ‘normal life.’ Life has never

been normal.” As Lewis said elsewhere, “The present is the only time in which any duty can be done or any day grace received". Let us live each day by faith in God's grace!
