Seek Faithfulness in Humility and Peace!

Daniel 3:28-30 New International Version

28 Then Nebuchadnezzar said, “Praise be to the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, who has sent his angel and rescued his servants! They trusted in him and defied the king’s command and were willing to give up their lives rather than serve or worship any god except their own God. 29 Therefore I decree that the people of any nation or language who say anything against the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego be cut into pieces and their houses be turned into piles of rubble, for no other god can save in this way.” 30 Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego in the province of Babylon.

Rach, Shach, and Benny were not arrogant. They did not stand up and try to make a scene. The king didn’t even know they refused to worship the idol until other people “ratted” them out! They faithfully worshiped God, while trying to live in humility and peace. In the early years of the Christian church, 40-200 AD, many Christians were oppressed and even killed, but the church grew by leaps and bounds! Christians had very little, if any power in politics, cultural institutions, or economics. Instead, their faithful worship of God with humility and the desire to live in peace with others created a wave that has transformed the world. A few hundred Christians is now billions! Let us also seek faithfulness in humility and peace.
