We Give All Praise To the Lord!
1 Corinthians 1:30-31 New International Version
30 It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. 31 Therefore, as it is written: “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.”[a]

Martin Luther says that real faith is trusting in what we cannot see. When raising children it is hard to see how being patient, good, gentle and self-controlled will help them grow and mature. But little by little, they absorb our love and grow into mature and healthy adults. Having faith can be hard. What we see is our sin, but we trust that Jesus gives us his righteousness. We feel ordinary, normal and mundane in our daily lives, but Jesus makes us holy, special and pure. Our life seems lost and confused, but Jesus redeems our life and makes it valuable and filled with purpose. We might not be able to “see” that we are righteous, holy and redeemed, but we can have faith because Jesus has already proven that he is trustworthy and powerful to defeat sin and death. This is why we boast in the Lord!
