God Has All The Power and He LOVES US!

Mark 10:41-45 New International Version

41 When the ten heard about this, they became indignant with James and John. 42 Jesus called them together and said, “You know that those who are regarded as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. 43 Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, 44 and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. 45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

The desire for power in this life is based on the universal attempt by all humans to gain control over their own lives and environments. Control is the illusion that we are bigger and stronger than we really are. We try to control everything, including other people, because power makes us feel like death is not really a threat in every single moment of every single day. We think that we are in control, even over death! When we trust in Jesus we don’t need to be in control. We also don’t need to have power because we know that God has ALL of the power and he loves us! As the Apostles’ Creed says, I believe in God ALMIGHTY, Creator of heaven and earth.”
