God Rejoices over You!

Matthew 18:13 New International Version (NIV)

13 And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off.

Thursday, August 6 - Matthew 18:13 Have you ever lost your car keys? Or maybe your wallet or phone? There is a moment of panic when we lose things that are important, especially when it comes time to get in the car and drive to an appointment or meeting! When we finally find what we have lost there is a moment of joy and relief. That moment might be bhat we have lost there is a moment of joy and relief. That moment might be brief as we quickly move on to what we needed to do in the first place, but we almost always experience that feeling of joy. That joy is how God feels when he has “found” and saved us. What Jesus is illustrating and wants us to trust is that God rejoices over us. We are far more valuable than lost keys, a lost cell phone, or even a lost sheep (Matt. 10:29-31). The small feeling of joy that we fill upon finding our lost stuff is only a glimpse into the heart of God and how God feels about us when we have faith in our Good Shepherd who has come to find us. God is rejoicing over you!
