Acts 5:41-42 New International Version (NIV)
41 The apostles left the Sanhedrin, rejoicing because they had been counted worthy of suffering disgrace for the Name. 42 Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Messiah.
Saturday - April 25 - Read Acts 5:41-42
Suffering does not prove God loves us. We already have the cross and
resurrection of Jesus! We do not earn points with God through suffering.
The grace of God is freely given. The apostles rejoiced because they believed
that sharing the Gospel with others was worth suffering for. They believed
Jesus had given them such an incredible responsibility that they were willing
to suffer for it. The Gospel of Jesus is worth the cost of suffering because
suffering and death are not the end. New and eternal life awaits in the
Kingdom of our Heavenly Father. Right now we should work to bring as
many people with us as we can! Because he loves them and it’s worth it!
