Heaven is a Gift From God

Matthew 13:10-12 New International Version (NIV)

10 The disciples came to him and asked, “Why do you speak to the people in parables?”

11 He replied, “Because the knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them. 12 Whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them.


Monday - June 15 - Read Matthew 13:10-12 Have you ever wondered why it seems that God makes the Bible kind of confusing? Why not just make things plain and simple? Well, God did make things pretty simple for Adam and Eve, but they still screwed it up pretty badly, so maybe that’s not the answer, either. But there is something plain and simple that we often miss completely: The Kingdom of Heaven is a gift that is given to us for free by Jesus. It is not something that we have to figure out or even fully understand. God’s kingdom of mercy, grace, love and forgiveness is a free gift that is received by faith, plain and simple. This is the “more” and the “abundance” that Jesus is referring to. You already have ALL of God’s love and forgiveness and He is going to keep on giving your more and more and more and…
