His Resurrection is Your Salvation!

Matthew 13:47-52 New International Version (NIV)

The Parable of the Net

. 49 This is how it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come and separate the wicked from the righteous 50 and throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Tue. July 21 -Matthew 13:49-50 These verses give a very brief insight into important Christian doctrines. One is that all people will be resurrected (see Matt. 25:31-46 and Rev. 20:11-15). Another is the doctrine of judgment. All people, not just some, will be resurrected (this is the dragnet of the kingdom at work) and all will be judged (the “sorting” of the good

and bad fish). WE do not do the judging. That belongs to the King of the Kingdom and his angelic workers. Also, RIGHT NOW is NOT the time for judging. That happens at the end when everything has been hauled up onto the shore. Right now, the question facing us is: how do we make sure we are “picked” as “good fish”? By faith in Jesus and his death and resurrection (John 3:16; Hab. 2:4; Romans 1:17; Gal. 3:11; Heb. 10:38). His death has forgiven your sin and washed you clean. His resurrection is your salvation and new life. When the fishermen are sorting you they will not actually see you, but Jesus, the perfectly righteous “fish.”
