Holy Spirit Makes...FAITH Happen!
John 14:15-17 New International Version Jesus Promises the Holy Spirit
15 “If you love me, keep my commands. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be[a] in you.

Today’s devotion is an excerpt from Martin Luther’s preface to Romans.
“Faith is a living, bold trust in God’s grace, so certain of God’s favor that it
would risk death a thousand times trusting in it. Such confidence and
knowledge of God’s grace makes you happy, joyful and bold in your
relationship to God and all creatures. The Holy Spirit makes this happen
through faith. Because of it, you freely, willingly and joyfully do good to
everyone, serve everyone, suffer all kinds of things, love and praise the God
who has shown you such grace… Ask God to work faith in you, or you will
remain forever without faith, no matter what you wish, say or can do.” In
other words, don’t go around saying, “What good things can I do today?”
Instead, place your faith in Jesus and his love for you, and the Holy Spirit will
cause you to do good works without you realizing it!
