Matthew 13:25-26 New International Version (NIV)
25 But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away. 26 When the wheat sprouted and formed heads, then the weeds also appeared. Tuesday - June 30 - Read Matthew 13:25-26
At the end of a hard day of work, a farmer goes to bed, but a neighbor who
despises him comes to play a trick by mixing in weeds. To describe the
weeds, Jesus uses the Greek term “zizania.” We usually call this weed
“darnel” which is a long, slender weed that looks a lot like wheat. In other
words, the good seed and the bad seed often look a lot alike! This is the
most common trick of the devil. He takes truth and twists it. In politics we
call this “spin.” Truth stands right next to a lie and it is hard to tell the
difference and do what is good and right. This is why we keep coming back
to Jesus and putting our faith in Him. We cannot figure everything out on
our own, so we trust in Jesus to be our way, our truth and our life
