Romans 4:23-25

23 The words “it was credited to him” were written not for him alone, 24 but also for us, to whom God will credit righteousness—for us who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. 25 He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.

See. I told you that the same promise to Abraham was a promise for us! The Old Testament prophet, Isaiah wrote this about Jesus: “He was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.” (Isa. 53:5-6). All our unfaithfulness was forgiven by Jesus. He took it all. All of our violence, lies, wickedness, and evil. All our disappointments, animosity, failures, and weakness was given to Him. He buried it all in the grave and defeated death by his resurrection showing God to be faithful and true to His promise that justification comes by faith in God’s Word of promise. Our faith in God is proven to be true, right and justified in the body of the resurrected Christ.
