Unfathomable Grace.... LOVE ...for You!

John 14:18-20 New International Version (NIV) 18 I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. 19 Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. 20 On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.

Tuesday - May 19 - John 14:18-20

In John 14:17 Jesus promises to give those who love him (those who place

their faith in him and in nothing else) the gift of the Holy Spirit. What does

the Spirit do? Reveal Jesus to us more and more. As Martin Luther wrote, “If

the heart of a believer in Christ accuses him and reprimands him and

witnesses against him that he has done evil, he will immediately turn from

evil and will take refuge in Christ and say, ‘Christ has done enough for me. He

is just. He is my defense. He has died for me. He has made His righteousness

my righteousness, and my sin His sin.’” That is the work of the Holy Spirit!

The world, the Devil and our own hearts may accuse us, but the Holy Spirit

intercedes and reveals more of the unfathomable grace, mercy and

forgiveness of Jesus. This faith in Christ is the Holy Spirit at work in you!
