Matthew 13:8-9 New International Version (NIV)
8 Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown. 9 Whoever has ears, let them hear.”23 But the seed falling on good soil refers to someone who hears the word and understands it. This is the one who produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.” Friday - June 26 - Read Matthew 13:8-9, 23 Many people are good cooks. They make delicious meals by following recipes from cookbooks or websites. However, the gourmet chefs who really understand food and cooking can create incredible meals without any cookbook or recipe at all! Jesus wants us to be more than just cooks who follow a recipe. He did not come into this world to give us a recipe to follow. He wants us to be gourmet chefs who produce incredible spiritual food for others. How does this happen? By understanding the Good News that Jesus always loves us, always forgives us, and is always with us. In other words, we become gourmet chefs by getting out of the way, removing obstacles, and letting Jesus lead us, teach us, and love us.
